UniSport Australia (UniSport) is proud to partner with competitive esports league, META Esports (META) for Nationals League of Legends Championship.
META provides a competitive environment for aspiring esport players to compete against students from across Australia and New Zealand in a range of games including League of Legends.
2021 marks the fifth year the competition has been part of UniSport’s National events series with the team at META again on board for this year’s competition. The tournament is open to all universities in the Oceania region, with the highest placed Australian team taking home the coveted Nationals Div 1 pennant.
UniSport CEO, Mark Sinderberry comments on the growth of esports and the importance of partnering with an organisation such as META.
“With esports continuing to thrive in the university sport sector, we know that by partnering with META, the league will be conducted professionally and in line with students’ expectations.”
Woody Wu, League Commissioner of META Esports, is gearing up to create change and impact in the university esports arena.
"META Esports aims to develop and grow grassroots esports across Australia and New Zealand. With more and more students playing video games and esports titles, we believe esports should be supported like sports from governments, schools, and universities. We're already making a big impact in building high school infrastructure and are excited to help support and grow university esports."
Nationals League of Legends commences with playoffs starting on Saturday 11 September to Sunday with the grand final taking place on Saturday 25 September.
