UniSport Australia is excited to announce the inclusion of Pride Round for the University Basketball League (UBL). Tournament games will be held on 18-20 May 2021 at university campuses across New South Wales and Victoria.
The Pride Round will celebrate inclusion and diversity in university sport while aiming to increase visibility and provide education and awareness to student athletes, members, and supporters.
UniSport Australia is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all student athletes as outlined in our Social Inclusion Policy.
UniSport Australia CEO, Mark Sinderberry spoke of the importance of the UBL Pride Round.
“Introducing the first Pride Round alongside the inaugural University Basketball League tournament seamlessly aligns with our commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment to our diverse student population,”

Melbourne University Sport Leadership Manager, Bridgid Junot says “Melbourne University Sport is incredibly proud to join forces with UniSport Australia to co-host the UBL’s inaugural Pride Round. We see it as part of our responsibility to ensure that our LGBTQIA+ student-athletes, coaches and fans feel safe, included, and respected so that everyone can enjoy University basketball to the fullest extent. We look forward to leading by example with the best Pride Round in basketball”.
The University of Melbourne and Victoria University, in conjunction with University of Technology Sydney and The University of Sydney will host Pride Round. All games will be live streamed through our partner Cluch TV.
