UniSport caught up with last year’s bp scholarship recipients, Stacey Markham and Tyrone Mohamed.
Stacey is back at ACU (Brisbane Campus) in her third year of midwifery. COVID-19 disrupted much of her studies and practical placements last year but she’s confident that next year will be her final year at university.
“The bp scholarship has really helped me with my midwifery placements – I’ve put the money towards my uniform, travel to placements and accommodation and towards my next placements where I am given more options – I am now planning to go to remote Aboriginal communities. Thanks bp!”
We spoke with Tyrone in the middle of him moving house. Tyrone is completing his psychology degree at RMIT in Melbourne, as well as getting back into basketball on campus.
“Thanks to bp, the scholarship has removed a lot of stress and uncertainty. I have been able to buy new equipment and textbooks to help me complete my studies – the financial pressure I felt for the previous two years has completely gone.”
