The Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE), in collaboration with Sport NSW and the NSW Office of Sport, have today announced the Timeout Talks - #unitedforsports webinar series. The series of webinars aims to keep the sporting community connected and united during the period of COVID-19.
Timeout Talks, a free resource for the industry, will offer a wide selection of webinar topics discussing key issues sporting organisations and clubs are experiencing during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as sessions that provide valuable personal and professional development opportunities in areas such as coaching, high performance pathways, and inclusion in sport. It is hoped this series will support both individuals and organisations from all levels of sport in NSW.
Michael McKnight, Partnership Manager at ACPE has highlighted the importance of collaboration between industries in this time.
“The Timeout Talks for Sport Webinar Series is a collaboration between the industries of Education, Sport and Government to ensure that our sporting community remains connected and united through this time. We all know how important sport is to our society and the wide range of social, physical and mental benefits that it brings to us both as individuals and organisations. Through uniting our industries and supporting one another, sport will remain at the forefront of everything we do, and we will return as one. The Timeout Talks for Sport Webinar Series will provide valuable insights for the sporting community. ACPE is proud to both be playing our part in this project and be supporting the sector during this time.”
The series will be delivered weekly over the coming months, with regular announcements of upcoming webinar topics. The first webinar, Inside Leadership in Sport, will be held on Thursday, 30 April 2020 and will involve a candid panel discussion with leading CEO’’s from NSW sports industry on how they are responding to and supporting their organisations through the unique challenges created by COVID-19.
